Each weekend we start off feeling strong and ready to get after it! And before we know it… it’s over. Sometimes our hurdle is being an over achiever and wanting to get all our priority errands done first. Leaving us exhausted and ready for the couch to catch us. Other times our hurdle is being too much of a social butterfly or having FOMO. Again, leading us to social depletion and or just plain out of time.
Whether you are one or the other… or both we’ve got you covered with some very simple easy ways to implement 5 minute rituals to help you take care of you FIRST!

Now! Before you get all, “Only 5 Minutes that’s nothing for Self- Care time!” This is your starting line. Clearly we’ve had some challenges sticking to maintaining other routines, right?- mostly likely the culprit? The length of time for those routines.
We live in a veryyyy fast paced world and that means we wanna move and groove baby! And get on to the next thing. So our goal here is to slowly integrate a routine that is actually manageable and something we can sustain for more than a weekend or two.
So let’s start off slow and after some time if you want to dial up the time go for it! Or if you want to add another 5-Minute ritual and make it 10-15-20 minutes by all means mix it up baby!

Showers can be the only alone time we have in a given day. Use this time to turn inwards. Observe what your mind and body is in need of. Silence and peace. Or some extra release. 6. The 5- Minute Work Break
Now, we all know you should be getting a 30 minute break, but sometimes our breaks don’t actually feel like breaks. They feel like a rat race to catching up with messages and our people. Try to dedicate some of this time to simply eating lunch, or sitting outside in the sun… without scrolling.
7. The 5- Minute Car Decompression
Okay, you’re either totally familiar with this concept or looking at this like what?? It works like this… if you know you’re about to walk into an extremely busy work day. Set out to have 5 minutes where you sit in your car before you head inside. Same with before you go into your bustling home. It can be hard not to just rush inside but just know the entire time before you got there, everyone was functioning just fine sugar. Put the oxygen mask on you before others. You have to take care of yourself in order to take care of others.
8. The 5- Minute Reflection
This can be done anytime of day but we find it most effective at the beginning of the day. This allows you to start the day with appreciation towards all that you’re about to accomplish. Even if it’s just bathing the pup!
9. The 5- Minute Cuddle Sesh
Speaking of pup! A cuddle session with that sweet baby is always a great way to add some oxytocin! Same goes for nuzzling up with your partner or loved one. Grab your favorite blanket and get cozy!

10. The 5- Minute Breath Work
Breath work doesn’t need to feel awkward. Simple in’s and out’s are just fine! Take it a small notch up and do a full expanded breath – hold for 3 seconds- and slow release. It’s the centered focus around only your breathing that will make this a dedicated moment.
YOU CAN do anything for 5 minutes!
Even if you get interrupted don’t feel discouraged. You are making stride towards developing a routine. Circle back into it or call it and start again next time. Remember these can be done once per month, once a week or daily. You’re in the driver seat!
